When using the a/c on a 2004 GMC pick up with dual temperature controls, the driver's side vents starts blowing heat, while the passenger side is still blowing cold air. Tried switching off the a/c and turning it back on but it doesn't help, however, it will start to work again if the engine is completely shut off and restarted. What would cause this and what to you do to fix it? This happens randomly, sometimes being up to a couple of weeks between incidents.

Not sure about those but I've heard a low charge can do that. Otherwise it would be a diverter door problem or the control of it. Can you get pressures to see if charge looks normal?

You have a bad blend door electric motor. Replace electric motor for driver side blend door. It moves when you go from hot to cold to either allow heat from the heater core or not. Yours is stuck in heat. Happens alot
