Should I just replace the A/C Compressor, or is it best to change all the A\C components on my 2001 Pontiac Sunfire?

If the comp fail internally, to get the best results you should change out the comp, accumulator, orifice tube, condenser & flush out the system.

Bare bones would be the comp, accumulator/drier, tube.

Comp only would be a huge gamble and wind up being more expensive in the long run.

When a compressor fails all the internal metal and debris will get pushed into the next component, which is the condenser. Restrictions in the condenser will cause the discharge pressures to run too high and cause a second failure of the compressor and then the blockage will be twice as bad.

These condensers cannot be flushed either due to their "bypass" design.
