Check under the passenger side of dash. There usually is an access cover on the side of the heater box near the blower motor that you can remove and pull the core out. First look under the hood at the heater hoses and see where they enter the firewall. Keep a mental note of this location and look under the dash for any covers that are screwed to the box. If there aren't any then you have to unbolt the box from under the hood. The studs go thru the firewall and there are nuts to take off. The heater box is removed from the vehicle as one unit. It is quite large, and you may need a helper to move the dash around as you wrestle it out.
P.S. You can get online subscriptions to AllData and Mitchell. As I have said in the past, Chilton and Haynes are only good to start up the wood stove.
ONE QUICK NOTE. If you have to pull the heater box out you will need to bring your car to a shop first to have the A/C evacuated because you will have to remove the hoses from the evaporator core. If you go this route, you might want to replace the evaporator core when you do the heater core. It will eventually fail and you will have to do this over again.

Sorry to tell you this but you did a whole lot of work for nothing. The heater core can be remover without removing the complete heater/ac module.
After removing the lower air ducts there are 5 or 6 screws that hold the heater core cover in place; once the cover is removed you’ll see 4 screws that hold two metal straps. Once they’re off you can remove the core. We just did one here at the shop and my apprentice was all said and done within an hour.
Dan.

Other then the heater hoses and the air ducts the only things that needed to be touched are the ones circled in red.
