What is your problem? If the bearing on the clutch has failed and you don't care about fixing the A/C to be operational you still need it for the belt system in many cars - just fix the bearing and leave the compressor there unplugged electrically. It won't hurt anything to just be there. If you have a by-pass pulley set up (heard of those aftermarket) then it would just go where the compressor is now holding an idle pulley just as the compressor did. Bearing in clutch of compressor is replacable by itself. In most cases that's the cheapest and easiest way out. If GM made a bracket for a Cavalier ordered new with no A/C then it should just go where the bolts holding compressor are now - maybe shorter bolts - dunno. What are you trying to accomplish and do you have a part now? T
