My a/c works OK when driving but blows hot when stopped. Also, it has started overheating only when parked with engine running. Changed rad cap and thermostat. It seems to have helped but not entirely sure yet. Any ideas?

Your condenser fan is not working. Get it fixed ASAP or you will tear up the compressor. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

OK, You corrected a whole word typo, top post I recall it. It's overheating without air speed of driving it so fan(s) are NOT working properly OR your t-stat and radiator cap job left a lot of air in system also. Air moving it's all fine so said so Hammer was right - get those fixed or known working, no guessing. I don't know how hot your gauges really show you for overheating but it's an engine killer so right now job one, like yesterday! 50/50 antifreeze and water check it should read -34F freeze* protection - if way too strong you lose cooling power BTW. * Doesn't matter if it never freezes where you use this that's the standard, do that. Other: Change the oil out if it's been hot when fixed just do it "just because" it's not good for extremes unknown so dump it too, Tom

There definitely IS a problem with your fan. Either it has more than one fan or the single fan is not running fast enough but you definitely have a fan problem.

As close as it gets to 100% is a fan issue. Some reasons for probably a loaded (options) vehicle. * Speed of fan(s) repeated. * Dirt/debris in between condenser and radiator maybe unseen? * Lousy radiator need more airflow than perhaps normal counts on. Temp check it back side hard via infrared thermo should do. * Way out there in extremes if so over real 100F is all the air ducts even the air dam under front bumper is there to channel air right or more thru grille. * The last for now is for some wild reason fan is blowing out as in air backwards! Have to fix this or you'll lose this engine never mind being cool with A/C, Tok
