indicator that your refrigerant has leaked out of your A/C system somewhere, take it to a shop to have it tested to see if they can find the leak. GM ASEP 26 SCC Milford ASE certified in Brakes and Electrical on Thursday April 5th 2012

No, it doesn't indicate low refrigerant so don't go trying add some. I do agree with getting it diagnosed properly though. It could be a bad compressor, overcharged, fan problem, condenser problem, etc., etc. You can only do more damage by messing with it yourself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Doesn't the way it's working indicate an air-flow issue? Thanks....John

I'm referring to the air-flow through the grill and under the hood....

Yes, that's one of the possibilities but only one of many. You have no high and low pressure readings so you have no clue what it's doing at this point.

Okay...had a friend check A/C system...pressure looks fine....he couldn't find anything wrong with the system...still only blows cooler air while car is moving....he did say that a few weeks ago, he worked on an A/C system on the same engine in another Ford and he replaced all the components and still was unable to solve the problem....he recommended going to my Ford dealership because the mechanics there would most likely know the "problems" of the A/C units on this particular model..... Does anyone here know of any particular problems with the A/C unit (@ 78,000 miles) on a 2007 Ford 500 Limited? Thanks for your help..... John

As you've already been told. The pressures will tell a story to someone that knows how to interpret them. You just need an A/C tech that knows what he is doing to analyze it.

Gotta get those pressures & temps....... Idle & 2000, ambient temp & vent temps. While probably not possible, it would be nice to have the system evac'd & recharged to rule out any over or under charge problems.......

As Sidom said - always great to know it has correct charge then if not right the pressures mean more. If OK with some speed points to airflow issues. Make sure all shrouds are in place properly including the air dam under front bumper. Is the fan blowing the right direction? T
