You should be able to access it by removing the glove box. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Is the blend door working now? Are the gas systems working properly? Why did you change the actuator in the first place? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Limited knowledge, I thought that was the way to go based on going to troubleshooting sites. Cold air driver side warm on passenger side. As you can tell i tired to find the easy way out.

I would suspect that you have probably developed a leak and it is a little low on refrigerant now. The amount of charge is very critical so don't attempt to add anything to it. What you need to do is take it to a shop and have them do a complete evacuation and recharge with the proper weight of refrigerant and have them add some U/V dye to the system during the process so you can look for the leak later. You can't diagnose anything until you know you have the exact specified amount of refrigerant.

Just to add. On dual zone systems when one side blows warm and the other cold with the ac on, it is not uncommon for a low refrigerant charge to cause that. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

$100 to $125 is average including refrigerant. Just make sure they have dye to put in and they actually specialize in A/C repairs before committing to them. Everybody seems to think they are A/C experts when in reality, they are rare. I'm in So Florida so we do a lot of it.

Just because I had nothing better to do last night, I took out the new blend door actuator and did a manual turn of the blend door knob and it blows very cold and then i moved it and it blew hot, so doing it manually it works fine, my question is do i still need to have the system charged? Is the door bad? When i reinstalled the new actuator it went right back to blowing warm no cold. Don't mean to be a pain, just wondering, I am a Ford guy, this is my daughters vehicle.

You should be able to observe the center shaft of the actuator while it's installed and operating and determine if it is moving as it should from stop to stop.

Then it sounds like a bad actuator if the door is free when moved by hand.

Well, it just gets more interesting. Purchased another blend door actuator, same problem exists. What I did was move the slide lever up and down on the command module and at times it goes from very cold to hot and back again. Could it be the slide lever for the passenger side or the whole command module, running out of patience and money.

I have finally come to that conclusion. Was trying to avoid major expenses by avoiding dealer or certified shop, but that is what it has come to. Thanks for everything, it is not my car, my daughters, but that's what Dad's do.
