2002 Toyota Avalon Blows Hot on Driver's side and Cold on Passenger side Sign In

I recently had problems with my 02 Avalon overheating and due to the symptoms I decided that it was the thermostat. I replaced the thermostat and the overheating problem is gone. However, I'm now experiencing a new condition. As i was test driving the car to make sure that it was no longer going to overheat I realized that when I turned the heater on (my car has a dual climate control system) it only blows hot on the driver side while the passenger side is completely cold.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem? How can I fix it?

Thanks for your help.......

The heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not.

Thanks Hammer Time. I'll look into that. Can you briefly explain where the motor/actuator can be found?

Under the dash on the passenger side.
