2002 Cavalier - Cooling Fan or ??? Login - Sign Up

I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier, 2.2L

I've noticed the temperature guage will sometimes go above the halfway mark. I've noticed that the cooling fan is not coming on either while the car is on (during idle) or shortly after I turn the car off.

I know that likely causes are the cooling fan motor is bad and needs to be replaced, or the fuse or relay could be bad.

Assuming I check all those things and they are OK, what would be the next logical thing to check for to figure out what is preventing the cooling fan from popping on??

I don't want to spend money buying every possible replacement part if not necessary.

Coolant temperature sensor
Wiring
Pcm (computer)

How long do you let it run ? it can take a little while for the system to get up to the temperature to command the fan(s) on.
Fans will run all the time with the A/C on.(if the vehicle has A/C)
