just purchased 2001 grand am, fan for heater only works on highest speed anyone out there know what could be the problem, im wondering if its the switch or blower motor, thanks for any help

It’ll likely be the blower motor resistor; they are famous for burning out. You’ll find it under the dash, passenger side close to the blower motor. It’ll have three, four or five wires going to it, one of which will be purple leading to the blower motor.
Have fun getting the one retaining bolt out. LOL
