This is what's happening...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTssBdJEg2A

I bought a new compressor and took it to a mechanic to install along with a new orifice tube and dryer. (I had no time to do it my self at the time)
They guy installed it and charged it but the A/c only lasted about 2 months and it started doing what you see on the video. Then winter came and had no use for A/C.

Now is getting hot again in Florida and not wanting to take it to those guys again, I bought the manifold gauges and decided to give it a go.
When I measured pressure with the car off, the car had very little pressure, to I added some r134a to leave it to about 100psi in the low and high side.
I think is leaking from a shraeder valve.. no other leaks could be found with a UV light. (they seem to have put dye on the system)

What I wanna know is why is it not rising almost at all on the high side?
Is that a bad compressor?
Bad Orifice tube?
I have no idea... should I put more freon?

Let me know guys.. I wanna do this myself, but I cant find anywhere how to diagnose the system properly.

The system is still low on refrigerant and it is cycling. The only way to do this right is to completely evacuate the system and recharge it wit the exact "weighed" charge of refrigerant.

Agree with HT on this. You don't want to top off that kind of system.

I'm trying to figure out why that shop you had do the repair is shady. You brought your own parts and they probably didn't warranty the repair. I don't blame them either if that is the case.

I hear you.. I only added some not to "fix it" but just to get some readings... because It is leaking somewhere. But do you find that weird noise that the compressor is doing normal???
And even with a low charge, you see in the gauges sucking on the low side, but nothing happening on the high side... Is that normal in a low charge system?

I dont have a lot of experience in these topics at all but for what I have seen testing other cars, the low side and the high side move when the compressor is engaged.

Well.. These are young kids working on that shop.. and they seemed troubled working on the car. It took them like 5 hours messing with it to tell me that I had to come back the next morning cause they coulndt finish. Next day I went back and they were done in less than an hour. Hence my hesitation.

I dont know for a fact that they flushed the system or that they removed the oil of the new compressor and put the exact amount in either.

Do you guys know of the top of your heads how much do they usually charge to empty the system? I dont wanna dump it into the atmosphere

AC work is not for the DIYer. There are too many things to observe that will effect diagnosis. Like I said. You need to have the system fully evacuated and recharged and when it leaks out again, find the leak.

Well, there is only one way to learn and to me is to do it yourself.

Two weeks ago I retrofitted a 1998 A/c System to my 1991 Corrado. Made all new costume lines, Used an condenser from neither of those cars and pulled the entire Corrado everything and made a complete harness and fan control module to run my A/C that works with the fuse box and all the Hvac controls.

I charged it my self too, put a new compressor and put the right amount of oil there too. Also had to make the A/C bracket, fan shroud and race radiator work, plus all the shrouding and I even added a front mount intercooler while I was there.
Also pulled the dash and installed a 1998 evaporator and made that work.

Almost every part was modified . So I do have a little bit of an idea of what I am doing.

I can easily pull the compressor on the Focus and flush everything and put all new everything, but thats not the point of this thread.

If you or anyone can answer any of the questions above, that would be helpful.

When you're done patting yourself on the back, maybe you'll realize the new issues you created. Your question has already been answered ........TWICE.
