Typical for a low charge. Don't just go adding anything as other things can do that too but would be looking for signs of oiliness on any parts that hold refrigerant.

A couple common ones are the condenser getting whacked over Winter and you would know then, compressor's shaft seal if oily right behind the clutch on the compressor. Don't ever buy one of those things with the gauge and nozzle as all I ever see has junk in it you don't want.

Have it diagnosed as A/C can be expensive enough without making it worse. For now low charge is the likely bet but adding too much you'll mess up the thing.

What do you want to do. If doing it yourself you'll need at least gauges (manifold set), thermometer(s) and the gas plus a lot of know how. Read up top in here CHARGING A SYSTEM which is locked for folks to read only.

With Tom here. Get this checked by a pro. AC isn't as easy as you think and a lot of ways to do very expensive damage. DO NOT FEED THIS A DEATH KIT!! mThat is any 134a can from pretty much any vendor that claims to stop leaks. Do no add refrigerant or oil unless you can verify the amount in the system by vacuuming it all out and weighing the charge. If you could o all that, you've got the equipment and expertise and wouldn't be here anyhow.

If I seem belittling that is not my intent. It is in your best interest I am telling you to not touch this or listen to some DIY idiot or a guy at a parts store. You will make the repair a four figure job if you do. I and all mods here are pros at this and either do this for a living or are recently retired from the trade. We see all too often the DIY job that costs twice what it would had it been in front of us in the first place.

Please heed the good advice you are getting for free here. We get nothing from you. We want this to be done right and get not a cent for it.

Smart move. IMO a two year leak will not be easy to find if so and may not call for a repair but needs proper charge. Not too much, not too little and takes some equipment to really know it's exactly right which is critical or risk nasty expense. There is some normal loss over time. Some do, some don't and IDK exactly why on each for the slow ones.

Good luck,

T
