That's plenty of miles for lots of possibilities.

Is there good flow thru heater core as felt by hoses - carefully?

Are you sure it's full of coolant at radiator? Air or vapor in system for any reason could stay stable for the engine but not heat well or at all.

Could have plugged up heater core or control head on the list too,

With the engine at full operating temp, locate the 2 heater hoses where they go into the firewall and feel them to see if they are both hot to the touch. If they are both hot, the heat in that vehicle is controlled by a blend door that regulates heated air flow. it is operated by an electric motor/actuator. The problem can be that the actuator is stripped or inoperative or the door itself could be damaged. This is what needs to be determined by examining the actuator and see if it is responding to heat change commands or not.

hammertime. i did check both of the heater core hoses. both of them are indeed hot. id also like to note that the hoses leading to and from the radiator do not heat up either.when i changed the thermostat, which is a pain, the coolant that came out of the block was hot, however the coolant below the thermostat was cold. this led me to believe that perhaps the t-stat was the problem. however, upon changing it i still have the same condition.with having a resorvoir for my coolant, instead of a cap on the radiator, i cant really tell if the coolant is even circulating. how would i go about checking on the actuator/motor and the door flap??

If both of the heater hoses are hose, then you're finished with the engine side and your problem is under the dash with the blend door.
