1995 Pontiac Sunfire AC Problem Sign In

Hi. I am having a problem with the air conditioning on my 1995 Pontiac Sunfire. It was low on R-134 so I added 1/2 can which lasted for about 6 months when I added the rest of the can. This only lasted for about a month before I noticed it was not getting cold again. This time I bought a can of R-134 with O-ring conditioner, and stop leak and a hose with a pressure gauge. I checked the system pressure at the low pressure side and it is around 25 psi which according to the gauge scale, at 85 deg F ambient, it should be around 50 psi. I hooked up the can of R134 as per the instructions, pierced the seal and opened the valve to add R134 to the system. I left it hooked up for around 25 minutes and it improved the cooling a bit (it will get the temp dowm to 70 F from 85F outside) but I can only get the system pressure up to around 30 psi. According to the Haynes manual I have, the system should lower the temp by 30 - 40 degrees, so I am not quite there. Does anyone have any ideas on what the possible problems could be which won't allow me to get the system pressure up? The can of R134 has lots of pressure since it wraps the gauge around when I open up the valve so it should not have a problem getting in..

Thanks very much for the help!!

Those cans are called "death kits" and named that way for a reason,
