07 Mustang Intermittent Whining Noise from AC Sign In

2007 Ford Mustang V6 with 85K miles

I had my AC repaired recently because it was blowing hot air. The AC works fine now, but ever since it was repaired it has been making a loud whining noise whenever I have it on. It is not a constant noise, it comes and goes intermittently. Each whining noise will last about 5 seconds and go away for a few minutes. I have had it checked out by 6 different shops now including the ford service center, and no one has been able to pinpoint the noise for me. I have also noticed that when I turn off the AC it makes a strange noise as if gas is escaping or something, kind of like a whistle. I have had my alternator replaced since this has started so I can rule that out, but other than that everyone has told me it's all good under the hood. Very frustrating...

Hard to suggest over all those shops coming up with nothing.
IDK - you could try some things to isolate it. Hood open so you can see compressor engage, do so with A/C on and see if noise and cycling (see hub of compressor move and quit) follows or is when one or the other mode.

Spray belt with water (engine off) it might quit for a while when started. If not that isn't conclusive.
Belt itself new or not could be the noise so if it shuts up when just misted I'd try a name branded good one and while off spin the pulleys of anything for any odd feel at all. Is it on the pulley properly as well? If not it's probably ruined now.

This sound of gas escaping some cars do when shut down, heard mostly engine off as well as system equalizes can be normal on some.

Pay attention and find it no matter how. Noises are warnings and you called it LOUD so that isn't normal,

What did they repair on the ac system? Can you record the noise, upload it to a video hosting site, and then paste the link in here for us to listen to?
