white to light blue smoke out of exhaust Sign In

I recently had a clutch kit and a 5 speed transmision put in my car..since that was done every morning when i start the car up i get white to light blue smoke comming out of the muffler and its a lot..i drive a 1997 honda civic dx 5 speed.180,000 miles...it also happens if the car sits for a period of like 4 hours or so..but there is no smoke when the car is warmed up. would those repairs be related if not done right?or how can i reduce the smoke if possible

THere is no relation to your oil burning and the clutch job . With the mileage you've got the only sure way to stop it is a rebuild or reman eng.

To patsfan, if the pcv system is working properly then you have an internal oil sealing problem.

I've seen many honda motors run 200k plus miles with no problem.

You might try replacing the valve stem seals, it's somewhat of a gamble but definately cheaper than new motor.
