wheres my maf sensor 2001 accent 1.6 dohc
|

|
i have a 2001 accent 1.6 dohc and my check engine light is on, had the code read and it said problem with the air flow sensor but i cant find it. i found a diagram for the sohc engine but my dohc dont have the sensor in that location.

Its located in the snorkel close the airbox..

Its not there that's a sohc engine the parts are completely different. The sohc air flow sensor looks totally different than the dohc I searched the part and found that out I just can't find where it its

It doesn't have one on the 1.6 DOHC. Which is strange because there is a listing for it when you go to look up parts. If it did have a MAF sensor like the 1.5L, it would definitely be between the air cleaner housing and throttle body in the intake ducting.
This engine is probably speed density and doesn't use a MAF.

I don't think so. I'm looking at the service information for the location of it and it doesn't show it in the illustration.
Are you getting a trouble code for MAF? If so, what is the number?
You can look at the service info if you want. Hyundai and Kia offers it for free. You just have to register.

A 1.6 doesn't use a MAF its MAP based.
Normally the MAF would be connected to the back of the stock airbox, not by the TB.(like showen in the picture).
The MAP/IAT is located in the intake plenum.

The code is p0112 it says IAT circuit. I also got various other codes but I'm hoping it originated from this one single problem

Make sure that the IAT is plugged in. Inspect the connector and wires near the sensor. Make sure the wires aren't broken inside the insulation and check that the terminals inside the IAT connector aren't spread out.
If that is good, clear the codes and see which ones come back.

The IAT is built into the MAP on this one.

Replaced map sensor and did a tune up and it was a success! Thanks for everyones help!!!!!!!
