2005
Toyota/Corolla
4 cylinder
210,000 miles

Hey, I am learning about cars for the first time so I have basic questions. My Corolla was off the road for about 4/5 months. Before taking it back on the road I changed the alternator, water pump and belt. Also during this past summer I had a/c compressor changed. Since I started it up again (this past weekend) there has been a clicking noise when I press down on the gas. The belt seems to be one straight and all the pulleys seem to be going. What could it be? How do I trouble shoot? thanks

IDK - It sat so a few things crop up just that fast. Bet you had a dead battery and killed alternator making it try to charge it stressing the thing out and still need the battery.
Not the noise though which still could be belt driven so take belt off for a test and just run in for a quick test period if noise is gone spin all pulleys new or not.

Other is exhaust heat shields: Tap on them and exhaust parts with like a rubber hammer and most will show they are loose and need fixing. Assorted noise from those quite common.

If it only makes the noise when moving, while turning, using brakes or at any certain time only say so would help. Don't just go tossing tons of parts at it so fast either as if not known bad you just bring in the question of the new part(s) and make diagnosing noise harder,

Can you record the noise and post it to a video hosting site and then post the link in here?
