You could get it to balloon out to fit the 10.5 rim but it would not be safe. I have put many tire's in that size range on that size rim. Of course you need special tools such as a blaster ring or a inflation tube ,kinda like a big rubber donut. BUT most regular tire shops dont have such things. so you right in saying good luck. BY the way one reason for mounting such a combo is that it makes a great high flotation sand tire.
