Be sure to replace both gears along with the chain. Did the timing chain jump? The original cam gear, more than likely, has a nylon coating on the teeth. If it has 'jumped', those nylon/plastic 'teeth' are now in the oil pan which can get sucked up into the oil pump, starving the engine for oil. If so, the oil pan will need to be removed to clean out the debris. Good luck. If you need further guidance, don't hesitate to ask.
