You know - I've heard of that type of vandalism for decades but never ran across it. I'm not sure if sugar will dissolve in real gas which is no more in most places with the alcohol now in widespread use it probably would dissolve and try to burn thru and would cause problems.

At a minimum that tank of gas needs be dumped and tank should be cleaned clear then I'm not sure of what would clear it out of the rest of the system if the vehicle has been run since this was known.

Watching this as I want to know what solves the issue,

Happened to a customer of mine . Product of a nasty divorce. About a half of a five lb bag of sugar was put in the tank. The ex confessed so we got the facts . The victim was a smfi 5.7 firebird . The sugar had crystalized in the injectors, and the fuel filter was a solid block. Tank was removed pump removed and tank sent to rad shop for bath . Lines were flushed and and injectors fired with rail off car with a otc test box while on a motor vac . This saved five of the inj. New fuel pump ,filter and it ran. Converter and O2's looked ok on scan , but I'm sure their life was shortened . With all that sugar ,the car gained 5 LBS.
