stumped 00 cavalier Sign In

 2000 cavalier started stumbling under a load.
1st Replaced : fuel filter,fuel pump relay. Then put the car on a computer code came back P0301.
2nd Replaced: plugs & wires,both coil packs,ICM. still stumbles under a load
3rd checked : fuel pump pressure came back good and replaced fuel regulator
4th Replaced: fuel injecter on cylinder one. Still not fixed
5th Replaced: o2 censor at manifold and plug wires again and checked cylinder pressure 150 psi.Now a new code P0300 multiple misfire
dose not stumble as bad going to un plug PCM and plug back in and check for smell of eggs out of tail pipe


a little history back in 09 we had to replace the PCM the car would stick open go 90 mph.

ROBBERT: Tossing parts is now complicating whatever is the real problem and now so much has been aimlessly tossed you or I question the new parts? This is a nasty expensive way to stumble on the issue at hand.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks and cleaned throttle body, IAC condition of all air intake parts? It's near free to do that much first and in that it (guessing) only happens under load that it's confused on probably how much fuel to deliver and you could see that by "brake standing" while watch fuel pressure perhaps then move on to possible confused or partly wrong ign necessary parts that are aggravated by load. BTW - "Brake standing" is probably a local term by me meaning hold the brake hard and in gear give it a load standing still but with nobody in the way and nothing to hit and only just long enough for a quick test.

Didn't go check but this may need a better scan tool than whatever was used for codes to narrow it down or send it out for diagnosis and seems like you are able to do the work suggested,

The Swaptronic diagnostic approach is an expensive way of figuring out a drive-ability issues. It's like betting in the horse races in which the odds are higher if you don't have some insider information about the horse your betting on.

You need some diagnostic test results and information to make a uniformed decision on where the problem may be lurking.

You got a P0300, but you have to determine which cylinders are missing. Can't do that unless you have a scan tool with data stream capabilies that can look at the history or current misfire PIDs along with B1S1 voltage under load. Knowing which cylinders are missing may give more information to go on to figure out if you have a fueling, mechanical, or ignition related issue.

car stumbles under a load.
when you press down hard on the peddle or going up a hill car will stumble

If said already sorry but what engine is this? This did that both before and after plugs and wires replaced?

Two of many things happen under load is obviously it needs more fuel and for spark to make a good spark is harder for it as the density of the mixture tends to make spark seek any alternative to ground more than just at idle.

As DS said above the higher end scanner may be needed and if you have one (spark tester) the kind that is in line and you see the color AND how far it can jump - not expensive thing/tool and nice to own if you do any stuff on assorted gas engines.

For plugs do use OE type and style. Some engines are fussy about that and if replaced now with some other type twice it may just want the right ones - a guess for now. Don't fall for the fancy crap I've seen out there claiming better at performance or anything as I don't believe that junk,

did the power brake and the motor felt like it was misfiring .
i also did not smell rotten eggs out of the tail pipe.

the question on the code computer i used Reds from Reds auto.
I did un plug the PCM and plugged it back up,then did another power brake felt stronger will take it out on the road monday and give you an update thank you

You've been talking to too many back yard experts. That's a bunch of nonsense technique. The smell isn't going to tell you anything and all you did by unplugging the computer is reset all the memory and adaptives which means the computer has to do all it's testing and adapting all over again and then you will be right back to where you started.
