Does anyone know where the starter is located on a 1995 Mercury Cougar?

Follow the POS battery cable which will no doubt go thru a solonoid and on to the starter. If removing put some penetrating oil on the electrical connections as they cay break off which is no fun. T
Always safest to disconnect battery NEG is enough.
