started making noise from muffler and power dragging

 2006 Lincoln ls v8 @ 65,000 miles. Noise coming from exhaust and power seems to be stuttering at 50 mph or more. Is it poor gas or possibly need to run cleaner through?

Could be plugged converter.. is check engine light on?.. could be misfire under load. hard to say
