squeeky sounds from steering column Sign In

2004 Chrysler Sebring, 4 cyl, 55,600 miles - Squeeky noises coming from steering column when I make small shifts left and right . Yet does not make the noise when I make full turns. Steering wheel moves fine but the noise sounds like it lacks lubrication. What should I look for?

Noises like this are highly guesswork without being there. I've seen plain trimwork of the column rub on some assorted vehicles. If pushing on some trimwork makes it go away or worse see what might be misaligned or plain cheap design. If and if just that silly try lubing it if all is right - WD-40 on a Q-Tip. Could be other things of course so keep checking till you can isolate it,
