sporatic steering wheel shimmy

2004 Toyota Corolla 1.8L auto.
90,000 miles
this has happened twice in the past two weeks on highway trips.
randomly for no apparent reason the steering wheel will violently start to shimmy to the point its hard to keep the car straight. It is not dependedant on speed, it will do it with the same intensity from 30-70mph.
Then just as randomly as it appeared it will disappear for days on end and the car will ride smooth as can be.
I was thinking somehow air is getting into the system causing the violent shakes and then disappearing because the system managed to bleed itself out.
However checking the power steering fluid, it is at the full mark with no signs of bubbling and the system has no oil leaks......(i would assume that if air could get in,,,,,oil would leak out no??

have front end inspected by a professional.. Get them to check, tie rods, Ball joints, bushings and etc. You may have alignment issues to from bent components.
That is where I would start make sure front end is safe first.

car has been trouble free for 2 weeks of constant highway commuting use........ so im totally lost how a problem can just magically disappear.

get front end checked make sure it's safe
check for break pulsation (apply breaks at higher speeds see if wheel shakes while breaks applied)
Allignment issues
tire issues

brakes are smooth, no pulse or pulling.
there is no play whatsoever in the wheel bearings or lower ball joints. I had a buddy work the wheel as i checked the tie rod ends and everything seemed tight as a ducks ass.
i rotated the tires, and even swapped the winter tires on temporarily....but have been un able to get the car to do that shimmy again at all

Just to update the post with a solution.
Problem ended up being a stuck/hanging caliper on the front passing wheel
