Just bought a used 2005 Ford 500 and don't have the code for the keyless entry, is there a way to reset the code or change the code without knowing the old code?

Kind of new for me but historically the pre-set code was printed somewhere in the car. Ford used to put a sticker on trunk hinges with the factory code. Take a look??

They also used to put it on the spare tire on some but this one was changed by the previous owner and put it in the manual but have and "x" for the last number and I have no idea what it is. Even if it is changed by the new owner will the one from the factory still work? First time Ford owner with keyless entry so don't know a whole lot about it..

If you have the original factory code, it will work. That is the default code for the system. Also your local dealer can find the code with their scan tool. You will have to pay them, but you will have the code.

If you have all but the last digit you are set. The 1/2, 3/4 etc. only understand the single button on my older one not the 1 or 2 but that button which means you can just try it all five ways like with doors locked and it should open driver's door when you hit the right last #. Duh - keep the keys in your pocket! On mine it always works with the factory setting and you can add another but the orig is not cancelled. This is a keyless entry - right? Not a remote in which case I am off on the wrong idea. Good luck,

Tried that with no luck. I do have a question regarding the 1/2, 3/4 etc.. If the number is 2457 you still just hit the 1/2 once for the two and the 3/4 once for the 4 etc, correct?
