This was your original post on this subject,

Sheldon,
This doesn't have a carb and nothing to adjust. If a CEL (check engine light) now flashing it's seriously damaging this. Intermittent loss of power as of the 3rd (August) if still driving this with a CEL and flashing also that's too long. Damage to probably O2 sensors and cat/converter already.
If needs a real good code reading to direct where to begin. Cars will default to a limp mode IDK from what you said just what it's doing.
Understand sport this is an all volunteer spot here to help if we can no mal intent. Still need info to work with.
Between the lines you said someone adjusted a thing for the carb? Just saying that again mean you didn't know it doesn't have one so unlikely to be working on this -right?
The web is wonderful at some stuff but isn't going to magically do this for you and save you taking it somewhere for a professional estimate of what it will take to fix and approval by you to go ahead.

Yes it costs money and people don't like that?
It's not going to heal itself so what would you like to do?

You should keep all your responses in the original thread instead of adding one each time. No one will follow all that.

As Tom stated you need to get a code reading to start with to see what codes are stored.Post them here

Copied from one from your responses;

Your Diagnosis Please:

1. Bad acceleration
2. Check engine light comes on steadily or flashes
3. Tachometer goes as high as 4X upon acceleration
4. Little power
5. High gas consumption
6. Car sputters
7. May be result of foul play
Hope you can help.

Very truly yours,
Sheldon

Or......

Take it back to the mechanic that checked it out or find another mechanic
Or........
Quote from you
"I think my friend is knowledgable as to what is going on"
Have your friend fix it
