i have a kia optima 2.4 vin 6 my scanner tells me that air charge temp sensor and my engine temp sensor reads -38 degrees i have replaced the pcm with no effect what could be the problem

Why did you replace the PCM? This is either an issue with the air temp sensor itself or an issue with the wiring circuit that feeds the sensor. What was is the DTC (error code number) that was set?

the 2 sensors show -38 % but both r on 2 diffirent circuits

ones a air temp sensor and even if the ther is open were in la. it woudent show -38
|

You can't read -38 with setting an open circuit code. Suspect your scan tool.

To test the air charge temperature sensor in your Optima set your ohmmeter to the 20K scale. Connect both meter leads across the terminals of the sensor, and breathe into the tip of the sensor. If no change is notice the sensor is defective and needs to be replaced.

I have to agree with HT.....
There is no way you can have -38° without setting any codes or turning a light on.
If your ECT is actually reading -38°, if you could even start the car it would be running like complete crap.
Why you would set an ohm meter to 20k to check resistance values of an IAT or ECT is beyond me but doesn't really matter at this point....
Definitely gonna need the whole story on this one.............
