i have 1995 jeep the heater fan motor works on and off any ideas?

Check wiring connections. Body of typical blower motors needs to be grounded either with a strap or wire - if you added a ground jumper wire to it and problem stops it would be a ground problem. Motor could be on it's way out too, especially if it will do this at various blower speeds,
