I have a 92 lincoln towncar, i just replaced the lock cylinder that was not turning back far enough to release the key. the new one is doing the same thing, so did the ignition switch some how slipped out of the run position and how to i find this out or fix this problem.

Which end fell out? If it is down by the switch, just hold it in your hand and count where it is. If you take a screwdriver and push it, and it springs back, that was the start position, where it sprang back to was the run position.
