ignition key won't turn

2001 Mazda Millenia ignition key won't turn. transmission not in a bind, tried turning steering wheel back and forth, tried jiggling the key, tried extra key. buzzer goes off when key is put into ignition lock but won't turn. It has never happened before today, happened twice both times today jiggled the key a few times and then key turned but not now. Any ideas

Could be a problem with the lock cylinder itself. Worn out or stuck lock bar...
Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.
