i loose all rpms in the middle of driving	Sign In

I drive a 99 dark green Accord with a manual transmission, i supply the color because my problem seems to be the worst in the heat...[seems being the key word]...basically i can just be drving down the road pleasently and all of a sudden the rpms just fall completly to zero...it can happen at any range of rpms. Sometimes i am able to start it right back up, but usually inorder to get myself going again i have to rev my engine and start the car at the same time...also occasionaly the car doesnt even quit completly and when i go to start it..its already on with no rpms....i would really like to know wahts wrong with it basically for the pure reason that it is freaking scary in the middle of intersections...and my mechanic is dumb and cant solve my problem! Help!

Are you allowing them the time and permission to find the problem?
Intermittent problems are the hardest things to find; how is he/she supposed to find a problem if when the vehicle that is being tested is running “normally”. You may need to leave the car with them and walk away; telling them to call you when they find the cause.
Does this mean you’re going to have to show some trust in these people. YES
Does it mean you’re going to have to allow them to try some things. YES
Will it cost you some money in those trials’. YES.
Calling them dumb isn’t the place to start showing that trust.
Sorry if this isn’t the answer you were looking for but a lot of the people that post here are mechanics/technicians; not a good thing to call anyone dumb that is not here to defend themselves.

PS: I’d sell this green car to the dumb mechanic; green cars have always been problematic especially dark green ones. LOL
