HELP!!! high idle, i have a 99 f 150 4x4 normal idle around 7-800 rpm. it started getting up to 1200rpm when i wound start it or put it in park occasionally. then it stated do it in gear while stopped. it felt like if my foot would slip off the brake i would rear end the person in front of me. then it got worst in park it would get to around 2000 rpm and rev there for some time until it would fluctuate up and down to finally back to 800 rpm. i went to my local auto zone and they told me to try cleaning my idle air control i did and it seemed to help for a few days. i then purchased a new one and put it on and my rpm went to 2500 and just stayed there so i cleaned the old one and put it back on and rpm down to 1800 went back to auto zone and they said the part my be defective gave me another one and i went out in the parking lot and changed it and it seemed to fix it. now its 6 months later and its starting to do it again went back to auto zone a they said the parts under warranty and gave my yet another one. two days later at a stop light it only idled down to 1300 rpm. what else could this be. they dont know. surelly it cant be the part duralast brand
