I just replaced the alternator but I am unable to replace the serpentine belt. I have tried a new belt and the old one. I know that the routing is correct but even with the adjuster pully loosened and pushed forward to it's fullest extent the belt is about 1" short of going under the adjuster pully. Any suggestions? It wasn't your exact vehicle but I did have a problem once with a Town car with either six or seven grooves in and around that year????
