fitting 1992 toyota radiator hoses (transmission)

I have put the new radiator in but forgot how the transmission lines should be attached.
So there are two hoses attached on the radiator, and two connectors where the hoses will go to.
Do I fit them any how, or left hose to left connector and right hose to right connector, or left hose to right connector and right hose to right connector!
I'm very confused...

Are these now just rubber hose and clamps? Can't say too much for sure on this car but most would use metal lines originally or lines that would be unlikely to fit either way properly at all.
Don't run this without at least making a "U" turn hose bypassing the cooler temporarily if you need to but if all original designs are lost I'd quick see which of the two spits out trans fluid with just cranking and put that at the upper most port and the other at the lower most port and probably feel that return one is in fact cooler after a drive. Just idling wouldn't warm up transmission fluid a whole lot,

Thanks man.....
Now that I have sorted out the transmission line connections, I would like to know one more thing:
After filling in the coolant (I bought premixed), with the cap off, I run the engine for 20 mins with cap off. The coolant sucked in, so after 20 mins I topped again. The fan didn't turn on. When I turned the AC on, the fan did turn on.
I was wondering if I have to do anything else so that the fan turns on when idle (neutral).

Don't bypass anything. you can't drive the car without a trans cooler. Hooking them up backwards is not as bad as not hooking them up at all. If it's a horizontal cooler, it's not real important on the flow direction. If it's a vertical cooler, the fluid has to enter at the top. You can determine the direct the oil flows by starting the engine for just a second with the hoses off and see which one shoots out oil. Justy make sure you catch the oil in a bucket.

It's probably just not getting hot enough for the fan to come on. Let it cool completely and top it off again. Then drive it and watch the temp.

Your fan isn't supposed to be on all the time. Its controlled by the PCM to come on only when certain conditions exist, either a high enough engine temp or the AC clutch engaged. If it were always on, it would cause the engine to run cold, which would eventually plug your cat and also deliver poor gas mileage along with low heat inside the car if you lived in an area that gets cold this time of year. From what you describe it seems to be working properly. Follow HT's advice on letting it cool and watching the gauge and I think you should be just fine.

Thanks everyone for their support - my car is going fine now. Radiator changed successfully - the fan did turn on after sometime - when the engine (I believe) was hot. I did open the bonnet and checked - it was turned on!!!
