failed state inspection Sign In

2002 Hyundai Sonata 6 cylinder.Failed Ma. auto inspection bcause nothing showed up on inspection screen during inspection ,they do not know why,any ideas why nothing showed on inspection screen

Inspection screen? Do you mean they couldn't see which OBD2 monitors were complete? Was their tool able to communicate with the engine computer at all?

From MA and if nothing communicated with the "screen" they should know if the RMV is down or it really didn't connect for info. That printout you get if you failed should have one corner of the paper that is the sticker and say what the issue was or a total no go you'd be asked to come back later.

Did it know your car and print out anything? If so the RMV was up but your car might not have been.

RMV (same as DMV readers) is what MA calls it.

Haven't done it but the larger parts outlets can read your codes and tell you if it's ready or not. That would tell you where this issue lies, the place or your car. Duh - It still has to pass a list of safety items and any modifications legal,
