engine light Sign In

engine light has been on and the transmission went out. Got it "fixed" engine light went off then the next day engine light came back on along with the battery light (brand new battery) and then when you turned on the lights the engine would shift down and the radio would go off. They did fix this must have messed up wiring when they put it back together the first time but the engine light is still on and they say it has nothing to do with the transmission it is an oxygen sensor and I will have to take it somewhere else to get that fixed. Do I trust them with this or is it their reponsibility since this is why I took it in and paid 2,000 dollars to fix the transmission?

If the light went out and came right back on I'd have the place that did the job take a look. Even though it cost a fortune to fix the tranny they should take a look and it is possible that it's not their fault, T

Re: engine light Sign In

The PCM monitors the charging system. The description you gave sounds like the charging system is malfunctioning. The battery light is on because the alternator is not putting out, the computer saw the voltage drop and turned on the engine light. It could be just a new alternator is needed. This is not an oxygen sensor problem nor is it a transmission problem.
