I am a single woman with not much experince with my car. I have a 2002 buick ave. 6 cylce it has 80,000 miles on it. last week i noticed a little smoke coming out my exhast pipe. then yesterday i was driving and it just died. no sputter nothing just died. i waited a few min rolled the car back a few feet and tryed to start it again. it started. I drove about a mile and it just died again. I could smell maybe gas fumes i am not sure. I had the car towed home. I noticed that all around the muffler it is black. I opened the trunk and tried to start it. it ran for few seconds then died. but from the trunk area there was a lot of strong smell. this morning i started it again and now I smell the oder of rotten eggs. My question is would the cadilitic converter immed. smell like eggs or do u think I have two separte issues? I dont know what shop to take it to. a muffler shop or a place to test fuel problems. Please help me understand this issue. I am so confused. Thank you Gina

You likely have had a check engine light coming on so you need to have to stored codes read and post them here. If you live near an AutoZone or Advance auto, they will read them for free. Just don't let them sell you anything until you talk to us. Get the code number, not their description.
