you will need to get a cat converter -

start with basics
is there spark at several plugs?
fuel pressure - the pressure drop wwith engine off key on. sometimes easier said than done - need help?
do a vacuum check - record vacuum and observe reading as issue develops.
Disable for testing only the EGR valve.
ALSO for testing - unplug MAF - let us know if better..

this is a 93 that is OBD1 lets confirm its operating - try to get codes theCEL will flash 12 as a test.
do you need instructions?

If it's dieing when loaded and backfiring you might want to try a coil.
