Mine has a V6, 2WD, and surges going up hills. I've tried a different vacuum ball, and two used servos. The first lasted 12 months and the second went 30 days.

I put soap suds on the vacuum lines and didn't notice any leaks.

Would it be the wiring, servo, vacuum line or wiring? Thanks.

You may still be dealing with a vacuum problem - leak or perhaps check valve. There should be a check valve either at the vacuum ball or inline somewhere. If removed you should only be able to blow air thru it one way and tight the other. If a check valve leaks it defeats the storage of a vacuum ball for low intake manifold vacuum like when accellerating or engine under loads such as going up hills,

Tom,

The check valve works ok. I'll replace the vacuum lines next.

This pup is a handy gadget for vacuum stuff. Can make and check vacuum such that you see it and that it holds for lines, diaphrams etc.

You mentioned prior replacements worked for some time and just might have failed already. Tool like this could be real handy to at least check their ability again now,

Tom,

I put new lines on, but it didn't help. That still doesn't help with the black ball.
