My car has recently started chugging. It is not accelerating as if drving up a steep hill, what is wrong please help

Help us help you by providing some information please!
Year,Make, Model, Engine size
Check Engine Light on?
If so ,get codes read (for free ) at Autozone and post them.
And a better description of what exactly is happening
