car covering ideas? Login - Sign Up

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good way to cover my car (besides a garage; my house doesn't have a garage.) I want to be able to keep the bird poop and the weather off my car, but with something that looks a little nicer than some tent-looking structure. I've been looking at the system Duraports (www duraports dot com, I think?) makes, and it looks pretty classy, and it only has two poles that support the whole thing. Anyway, I was just wondering what else people are using. Gimme a holler!

Make sure whatever cover you use "breathes" as you can find the car soaking wet and moldy with one that doesn't. They do make them that keep rain out but let condensation evaporate.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I don't want to trade bird crap for rust, either, I guess.

I agree with the breathing part, you do not want moisture. If you have are just concerned with bird poop a cover should work. I have seen car covers scratch surfaces that had dirt, when the cover was removed. Plus the cover can get stolen by the local hoodlums for their car. Some covers have an optiom for a stay on locking system, used with a pad lock. There is a guy in our neighborhood that has a free standing unit to park his car under. Looks like it is made of some material hung on U shaped ribs.
