car and cigarrete jack not working Sign In

I own a honda accord 2001 with 134,000 miles on it. this morning after I started my car, I tried to connect my bluetooth charger to the cigarrete jack just then my radio went dead and the jack does not work anymore. Can you help?

You blew the fuse

Check all your fuses.
I show the Radio/Accy Power Socket fuse is Fuse #9, a 20 amp fuse located in the passenger side underdash fuse box

Sounds like there is some extra load on that circuit from something. Can I assume that's not a factory radio?

Comment on Cigar/Cigarette for power ports: Yes - somehow that size became a norm for assorted things for 12v power. The ones actually that will heat a lighter element stink for power vs ones just made as power ports. It sounds absolutely insane but NEVER use those to light a smoking product!

It's like a bad joke - they catch some debris from that, rot out, short out and infinitely more apt to short out if a paper clip or coin gets in them etc. Not the point but I smoke and NEVER use them - ever! Easy ones can be switched to plain power port which is the same size and lots better as a power source for the assorted things,
