Hi. i have had a few codes on my 2010 hyundai accent for a while now. The ones that have showed up in the past are po496,497,and 457. I also had a po457 (idle high) but that hasnt come back. I changed the gas cap, purge solenoid and valves or whatever the hell theyre called (the one in the engine compartment and the one next to the charcoal canister. I have looked over what hoses I can see and havent seen anything bad but havent got under the car yet. Im thinking the only thing left is the fuel pressure sensor part # 31435-2H500. I figure its worth a shot before taking it in and getting a smoke test done or getting taken hard on labor. Can this sensor be replaced without removing the tank? I read that its next to the charcoal canister. Thanks

My suggestion would be to actually diagnose the problem and stop using the parts cannon. Your problem could be as simply as a rotten rubber hose. You need to have the system smoke tested to positively locate the leak. You also need to clear codes every time to know for sure which codes are current. You have a couple conflicting codes there. ie: not enough/too much. No, I don't think the sensor will do anything for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Those 3 sensors will be less than $100 to replace myself on ebay. Those codes point to either/or (sensors, leak). If I go to mechanic its going to be way over that to do diagnosing if i had to guess. They usually do the parts cannon themselves. I do clear them in case I get something different. But the last one that has been staying pretty consistent is the 496

I'm not saying all mechanics do that and Im not saying I know more than the professionals. I asked a question and never got an answer. I wasn't looking for an opinion on how I should tackle the problem. My question was can the sensor be installed without removing the tank? If you dont want to answer, then dont. I'm not trying to be rude or a ahole.

Yes, it appears it can be accessed without dropping the tank.
