Brakes won't adjust on 1990 Nissan 240 sx (non-abs)--- Replaced the pads and the master cylinder.. Bleed order of: Bench bleed master cylinder; bleed back right, back left, front right, then front left. End up with mushy brakes that eventually go to the floor, with metal on metal sounds, slowly stopping the car. Bleed again and lots of air is back in the system. No leaks to be found anywhere but I keep getting air back in the lines.
What am I not doing, or doing wrong?

1st I'd like to know what the system's original problem was and how the pedal felt.

It's quite possible you got a defective master cylinder. I would go over all connections 1st to make sure they all are very tight. rebleed the system to get a good pedal and if you get air in the system I would change out the master.

When you lose your pedal, is the fluid level low or even changed slightly in the reservoir?
