Hi. Please help me before I have to buy a new battery needlessly. I have a 2010 Hundai Accent SE, with 40,000 miles on it. I don't know battery size but its a 4 cylinder, if that helps. When I use my accessory switch for a fairly short time, it runs my batterdown. This has happened the last 2 times I went to the drive-in (alone) and used the accessory switch only for sound of movies and when I tried to start my car it was dead.

What do you expect? You are consuming battery power without putting anything back in. If you just buy a better battery, it may have more staying power. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks Hammer Time. I have been to the drive in many times, so you are saying a 2-1/2yr old battery could be the problem? Also, parts store told me (you guessed it) that this car requires a special battery. forgot to tell you i have been only owner if that helps. Thanks.

Quote ">>I have a 2010 Hundai Accent SE, with 40,000 miles on it.<<" Isn't this car still under warranty? Seems to me if any item used can trigger a battery drain there's a common item/part relay or who knows that doesn't shut down when excited. Can a battery croak at 2.5 years - yes, especially if run dead a few times it will or at least can kill a good one. Something is continuing using power triggered by using whatever the items are you are using IMO. Kinda new for myself anyway to look much up on. Again - why not the warranty? T

Holy crap! I haven't even seen a drive-movie place in ages! Ones I knew their stuff clipped to you window now you own vehicle. OK - so putting it in asses to get radio could pull down a battery for the length of a movie. Other things unknown could easily be using power and I can't guess how much this particular radio alone would use. If I still missed it and the vehicle's radio isn't needed why the heck are you listening to the radio and paying for a move - (alone?) don't tell me Bring some battery powered boom box. If you leave if in IGN position you would use way too much of battery reserve. Ohhhh - If this is what I'm thinking which isn't funny can't you find some no-tell motel and use their music? Would be cheaper than killing the car all the time. Oh my! T

The audio for the movie is transmitted on an AM frequency and you listen to it through your car radio.

It's moot now. They never did it that way and don't think any are left. As said it clung to your car on a cord thing and several got pulled off if someone forgot to remove it, T

Of course they are still left. We have 3 of them in the area that are still open. They double as Flea Markets on the weekends. They haven't used those little speakers in years. The movies have expensive, stereo sound tracks now.
