I have a 1995 honda prelude. I have auto windows and the right front window will not go down. The place I took it to told me it was my window regulator. They replaced the regulator and now they are telling me it is the motor. But I can hear something in the door that sounds like a motor. Are they taking advantage of me? The shop still has the car what should I do?

They may have misdiagnosed it in the first place. If it has plastic gears that are stripped in the motor, it can easily be misdiagnosed as a regulator so tell them to change the motor but your not paying for the regulator because it didn't need it. . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

My biggest problem is that I live on an island and there is not to many places to take it to. Obviously I will be taking else where. They put the new regulator in when I go to the next shop what should I have them check

You don't HAVE THEM check anything. You tell them your window doesn't work and then they diagnose it. If they are wrong, your not obligated to pay for it. I wouldn't pay for that regulator that didn't fix the problem. Just because there aren't a lot of choices in the Caymens, they don't have the right to do shoddy work ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Doesn't the regulator include the motor?
