Wont start / Instant stall

My car is a 99/00 (not sure which) Renault clio grande with a 1.2 enginge and over 100,000 on the clock.
The issue is not that it doesn't start because it does but it then immediately stalls. I had the problem recently to the point that my car wouldn't start we called the AA believing I'd flooded the engine but in the end it was my key, they added a little device to my car to override whatever it was in the key was broken & my car went back to starting straight away but now its going back to taking a few goes, surely it can't be the key again as I only got it fixed no more then a fortnight ago.

The first thing i would do is have the previous work rechecked.
