What kind of damage due to missing suspension bolts Sign In

2006
Subaru Legacy Turbo

Hi,

My car had been in an accident and there was a lot of work done on it at a shop. Fast forward 3 months ( not driven very often). The starter goes out. Took it to a Subi dealer to have it fixed. They handed us the keys, when my Son asked them to check the oil. They put it back up on the lift and discover missing nuts and bolts in the Rear Suspension. Nut missing and one was loose LT rear control arm link bolt and Nut was loose. RT side Bolt and Nut was missing LT Rear inner C/V boot is torn. They noted that the rear tires were worn, the mechanic suggested it was due to the Suspension being off due to all of the missing/loose bolts. I am going to take the car to the shop that fixed it, as they are the responsible party. Other then tires, what else could be screwed up due to all of the missing bolts? The mechanic said we could have been killed if that last loose bolt had come off on the freeway.

You're right but I'm not sure I would trust them to work on it a second time. That's pretty serious stuff.
